Nets Rs. 1.5 Crores box ofice in its opening weekend
Mumbai, 7th April 2009: Eros International’s Mi Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy cast its spell at the box office over the weekend, shattering the record for the biggest opening weekend for a Marathi film. The film, an Everest Entertainment and Mahesh Manjrekar co-production debuted in theatres across Maharashtra on 3rd April with an impressive Rs. 1.5 crores net box office collection with the film opening in 139 screens.
The Maratha maharaja is currently ruling the box office and is enjoying the kind of hysteria unprecedented for a Marathi film. Commenting on the opening, Producer Sanjay Chhabria, Everest Entertainment said, “We knew we had a fantastic movie in our hands but the nature of mass hysteria around the release has been overwhelming. This kind of response is a huge bolster for the future of Marathi cinema”.
